AR.PE.CA Shipyards were founded in 1992 from an alliance between a group of established shipyards, business entrepreneurs and fishing cooperatives. This amalgam is reflected in the name chosen for the shipyard; the Italian for trades and crafts men (AR.tigiani), fishermen (PE.scatori) and shipyard (CA.ntieri). The mission of AR.PE.CA. is offer the much needed facilities for hauling and launching vessels.

AR.PE.CA. is situated in the new harbour area of Viareggio, next to the fish market and is easily reached by both land and sea. Thanks to this ease of access, the ample space available and the speedy and efficient service offered at competitive prices, the shipyard has been able to establish a sound reputation locally, regionally and nationally.
